Frequently asked questions
What are the payment deadlines for membership?
All members are expected to pledge their committed giving level and make their first payment by March 31, 2024 to confirm their participation in the 2024 GNOIC. The remainder of funds pledged must be received by unCommon no later than December 31, 2024 in order to be considered for continued membership.
What is the give/get model?
The GNOIC is committed to building a network of industry leaders working collectively to support unCommon's mission. While not required, we encourage members to create fundraising opportunities within their networks to support their annual pledge. We’d love for your donors to be industry-related, but they certainly don’t have to be! The “Give/Get” option exists to make it possible for members to introduce our youth and mission to a broader network of companies and individuals.
Is my donation secure?
Yes. Your security and privacy is our highest priority. We use industry-standard SSL technology to keep your information safe and secure.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, we’ll send a receipt to the email address you provide when donating. The receipt will include your donation details, such as the date, amount, and any beneficiary information.
Do you sell or share my contact information?
No. We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with anyone. We also do not send mailings on behalf of other organizations. We will only share personal information if you give us specific permission to do so.
Why is there a financial commitment for enrollment?
We have tried to set contribution levels in line with our partners’ historic engagement, at accessible levels that would contribute to a more substantial combined impact. We hope that these levels are not barriers to entry and can reasonably fit within an annual or project budget. This financial support from leaders in the industry will create additional capacity for unCommon to engage with smaller companies and professionals who might not have the capacity to engage at the same level.
What if we want to engage, but can’t make a financial commitment?
We have a number of open-call engagement opportunities throughout the year and would love for your company to participate in those. For example, our Hiring Fair is a twice-annual job-fair-styled event, designed to connect uCC youth with a diverse array of industry professionals and pathways to explore. Community Build Days are on-site build events that are open to the public and not limited to a specific industry partner or organization.
We want to join, but what if we can’t commit to engagements?
That’s OK. Joining the circle means you’ll receive our first invitation to engage with the youth in our programs, but it does not make you obligated to attend. Although we encourage participation from company leadership as a way to further invest in our mission, we seek engagement from a wide range of representatives from your company to give apprentices even more exposure to the variety of career pathways they might pursue.
Can I make my donation on GiveNOLA Day?
Yes! GiveNOLA Day is on May 7, 2024 and is an online giving event meant to inspire our community to give generously to the causes they care about. Your contribution on GiveNOLA Day would contribute to unCommon’s overall visibility on this event and can inspire others to follow your lead. There’s even an opportunity for you to make your own fundraising page! If you decide to make your gift on GiveNOLA Day, please make your gift through their fundraising site and let us know.
Can I make my donation as a Bash Sponsorship?
Event sponsorships are part of our a la carte sponsorships because they receive additional benefits that are not included in this package. However, members will receive first choice for exclusive sponsorship opportunities for our 10th anniversary events this year. Event sponsorships are available starting June 1, 2024, with levels ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Regardless of whether you become an event sponsor, GNOIC members will receive two complimentary VIP Tickets to unCommon’s annual Bash.
Do different membership levels receive different benefits?
While we value all of our Industry Circle members equally, there are unique membership benefits at each level. For more information, please contact [email protected]
